The Water Magician

The Water Magician started off pretty good. It was a little slower paced, avoided many isekai tropes (I say as someone who has not watched many), and I even recommended it on a podcast episode. However, the slower pace gradually led to it in fact not doing much of anything. I don’t know how much was edited from the original light novels, but if anime primarily serves as an advertising medium for source material then this adaptation takes that task to the next level. It feels like they purposely avoid doing too much or going into too much detail so that you’re just interested enough to buy the books. This makes this overall a pretty weak anime, and one you shouldn’t waste your time with. That being said, the material does seem promising that I might one day read the original work.
