  • Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

With how unbelievably good the show is, this did feel like a letdown. I loved the original series (stay tuned for a review of that soon), so I was very excited for Tommy Shelby’s return. This felt like a great ending for him as a character, but it was missing all the charm of the original show being an ensemble. I don’t think it deserves quite as much hate as people are giving it, but it is certainly not what I expected, and I do not recommend it unless you loved the show.

  • Chaos (Charles Manson Book)

I was given this book way back in December 2024 by a coworker as a Secret Santa gift but never really got around to it. Recently, while on a cruise, I read the book and loved it. I toyed with the idea of a full review, but it’s got so many moving parts it would be too difficult to review fully. If you like journalism or true crime this is an easy recommendation from me to you!

  • See You Tomorrow at the Food Court

Wada and Yamamoto are not two people you might expect to see together. The former looks like your typical proper student, while Yamamoto’s blonde hair emphasizes her gyaru appearance. Yet despite how they look to others there’s more to them, and I enjoyed spending my lunch breaks listening to them chat about whatever.

  • Cultural Exchange with a Game Centre Girl

What starts as a cute premise ends up seriously flawed, as an 18-year-old college student seems to know it’s wrong to date a 13-year-old and yet does not stop things.

  • My Happy Marriage Vol. 3

In the third installment of the series we get to meet the parents of Kudo, this was easily my favorite part of the show so I was eager to jump in and learn what the books had to say about the Kudo family. Let’s just say the books did it so much better than the show did! Easily my favorite volume of the story so far. Can’t wait to see how the next installment handles the major villain of the arc!

  • Rascal Does Not Dream Movies

I don’t have enough to say about each of these on their own, but in short if you like the show you’ll probably like these, with the first having perhaps the most emotional punch. The second one is largely forgettable, so if you’re rushing to catch up ahead of the new season you can consider skipping it.

  • Mickey 17

An interesting premise is ultimately let down by some mediocre writing. Robert Pattinson is very good though.

  • My Happy Marriage Vol. 2

In the second installment of the series we get more of the story beats of the end of season 1 of the show. I really enjoyed meeting the new characters and actually getting the time to learn their motives more than you do in the show. Some of the writing in this volume was a little slower than volume 1, but overall still a great read. Happy with the series so far and am excited to move on to book 3!

  • I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi

A surprisingly fun show that somehow managed to lean harder on its cute, wholesome romance side than its total degen, ecchi side. A possible contender for best romcom of the season but only from lack of competition.
