This is a cute, slice-of-life anime. That’s right, I’m watching a slice-of-life anime, and not only that, I liked it. Raido’s constant overdramatic misunderstandings combined with Aharen’s unnatural abilities lead to so many funny interactions. They play it all in a very straight and serious way too that makes it hard not to like. I breezed through the first season to catch up for the second season not longer after the spring 2025 season started. Complementing our MCs we have a cast of characters with their own quirks, in particular a teacher who cannot handle their interactions. Overall it has an almost Nichijou feel to it, even if it’s not the same level of absurdity as that show it’s the closest comparison I can make.
The second season introduces new characters and changes up some dynamics, giving a fresh feel. We also get a bit of character development, making the show a little deeper even if it didn’t need to be. The second season does also seem to act as a conclusion to the anime at least, so it’s overall a pretty short show to casually watch.
