There are a lot of different types of shows out there. You’ve got your action shows where people are punching or kicking or shooting or stabbing or exploding or uh magicing things. Then you have the big thinker shows where there’s a mystery or some shit that you’re supposed to be trying to figure out the whole time. There are romance and comedy and the mix between them. Actually, most of these can be mixed together. Maybe this is not the best point to be making, it’d take a lot of time to list all of the categories anyways. What I really want to say is, Agents of the Four Seasons is a big talking show.
Talking shows are all about sitting back as the viewer and watching the lost art of characters effectively communicating with each other. Sometimes there’s not much going on other than two people sitting in a room, but they’re pouring their hearts out to each other and slowly reaching an understanding by the power of carefully crafted dialogue. It’s a showcase of good character writing. Agents of the Four Seasons is a very strong talking show. It contrasts a fantastical setting and plot with characters that are struggling with more relatable, interpersonal problems. As the agents travel around and attempt to fend off terrorist groups, a lot of the focus of the show remains on a pair’s efforts to overcome the more mundane issues between them. I quite liked the show and I thought the creators did a great job of expressing their emotions and ideas through it. They even managed to break up the slower pacing of the talking show with some solid action scenes. If you count yourself as a talking show appreciator like me, I’d definitely recommend giving it a watch.
