  • I Have a Crush at Work

I Have a Crush at Work

Watched: Sub Also known as: Can You Keep a Secret? Many romance anime take place in high school. Maybe it’s because so many focus on your first love or it’s a bigger deal when you’re young. But there are those with an adult cast, sometimes even out in the working world rather than college to…

  • Okitsura

    Okitsura

Alright the full title for this one is, “Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She’s Saying” and so for obvious reasons I’m just going with the shortened version of the Japanese title, Okitsura. Now I don’t know that I’d even be able to distinguish Japanese dialects, but…

  • I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class

I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class

Watched: Sub It feels a little weird having this anime so soon after Ranma 1/2 given its similar premise. In this case our leads, Akane and Saito, have already known each other for a while before their marriage is arranged, as opposed to meeting and having it arranged. This also means there’s a history of…

  • The Owl House

    The Owl House

Disney has given us some great works in terms of cartoon shows on TV, but since I’m not generally the primary target audience it’s not something I generally seek out. Luckily there are others like Michael who are aware of other happenings, and since he often recommended this show I decided to finally give it…

  • Dead Boy Detectives

    Dead Boy Detectives

The Dead Boy Detective agency is here to help you go from purgatory to the afterlife by resolving your unfinished business, however they couldn’t solve their own unfinished business as Netflix cancelled them after one season.

  • Your Lie in April

    Your Lie in April

Your Lie in April is genuinely a wonderful messy show and depicts the horrible truths of loss while showing the characters becoming who they are because of it.

  • My Happy Marriage Vol. 1

Recently watched the ongoing anime of My Happy Marriage and decided to pick up the light novels and let me tell you, they don’t disappoint! Volume 1 is a delightful read filled with action romance and comedy in a perfect blend. Definitely looking forward to reading the rest and will report back with each novel’s review as I finish them!

  • Agent 355

Could have been something really interesting as this story hits the right amount of historical accuracy with exciting embellishment, however while I don’t mind the RomCom elements, they lean a little to heavily into it at times. Get me back to the historical spy drama and leave some of the RomCom out.

  • Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

This show had so much hype around it that I knew I’d get to it eventually. I expected it to be sooner than this, but better late than never. That being said, I don’t actually have too much to say other than this is really good, easily a contender for the top of all time, but we’ll have to wait to see more.

Review Process

Our Own Scales

We each use our own scales and methodology when reviewing a show, book, game or really anything. This means scores will vary by reviewer for the same topic, but each reviewer will have their own consistent reasoning behind reviews.

Differences of Opinions

We all have vastly different lives, backgrounds and interests. This means we frequently disagree on things. One of us may love a show and the others might hate it. This leads to some “healthy” debating and maybe one day we will show you what that looks like.

Flexibility to Adjust Our Scores

Opinions change and so do we! Sometimes we may go back to something we’ve already reviewed and give it a new score, these reviews will be tagged as “redos” so that they’re easy to find and they will always link to the original review if possible.

We Have Our Favorites

We all tend to have certain things we’ve watched, played, read etc that really hit home. For us you’ll quickly find out which are our favorites as we refer back to them as the “gold standard” for each category. We will tag our true top tier reviews as “gold standard” so that you can quickly find out what our favorites are.
