  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

Ah the beginning of beginnings. This game was originally recommended to me by a friend back when I had no idea this series existed. I had played around halfway through it before getting distracted, as I frequently do. It wasn’t until I randomly dropped Persona 5 in its opening hours and made my return to…

  • Wicked

    Wicked

A Familiar World, A Different Story I love the kind of retelling that Wicked does, really flipping the story on its head. Making the villain the hero is a trope in retellings seen often, but rarely are they done this well. The Wicked Witch of the West is one of the most genuine heroes in…

  • Ranma 1/2 (2024)

    Ranma 1/2 (2024)

Watched: Sub Covers: Season 1 If you’re aware of more classic or old school anime, you may have watched the first or second adaptation that ran in the ’80s and early ’90s. I’ve never delved much into the past beyond Ghibli movies, though YuYu Hakusho started airing the year the second adaption ended. Anyways, point…

  • Dungeon Meshi

    Dungeon Meshi

Watched: Sub Covers: Season 1 I know I’m a little late to this one, but when anything gets super popular it can be a little hard to evaluate it simply because there’s a lot of excitement and opinions about it. Now these reviews are just something I do as a hobby right now, so I…

  • Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF

Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF

Watched: Dub Covers: Season 1 Also known as: Spice and Wolf (2024) Earlier in 2024 I watched the original Spice and Wolf show, which ran for 25 episodes. It is really good, and even in light of the new anime I can still recommend it. The main difference is the new show is more faithful…

  • Dandadan

    Dandadan

Watched: Sub Covers: Season 1 Also known as: Dan Da Dan This was a breakout hit for the Fall 2024 season, and if you’ve watched it’s not hard to see why. A warning, the show is a little NSFW and the first episode might be a little triggering. However, any of those elements never feel…

Flash Reviews

  • Kraven: The Hunter

Only managed to sit through it all cause I was at some weird Tempur-Pedic bed movie theater. Like watching Morbius’ slightly older and more muscular cousin with an alarming familial resemblance. Might as well watch it if you hate yourself that much.

  • Golf Peaks

This is a nice little puzzle game where you have cards that define how the ball will move. As you progress obstacles are added in the form of different terrain, starting with just different levels and soon adding different types. Like many puzzle games it’s not terribly long, something you can knock out in a few hours and feel satisfied with and maybe a little smarter. Me, I’m a dumb fuck so I just followed a guide for the last world.

  • Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc

I suppose not everything can be a hit. Demon Slayer has been a great show that I think has done a lot of things right, but this might’ve missed the mark a bit. While I loved the background info we get in this arc on all the Hashira, the pacing was Demon Slayer’s best feature, and for me the Hashira Training Arc was just too slow… That last episode though was a masterpiece and gives me hope for the Infinity Castle Arc.

Who Are We and How Do We Do It?

What makes each of our reviewers tick? Find out but checking out our profiles and learning how we differ in our reviewing methods.

Review Process

Our Own Scales

We each use our own scales and methodology when reviewing a show, book, game or really anything. This means scores will vary by reviewer for the same topic, but each reviewer will have their own consistent reasoning behind reviews.

Differences of Opinions

We all have vastly different lives, backgrounds and interests. This means we frequently disagree on things. One of us may love a show and the others might hate it. This leads to some “healthy” debating and maybe one day we will show you what that looks like.

Flexibility to Adjust Our Scores

Opinions change and so do we! Sometimes we may go back to something we’ve already reviewed and give it a new score, these reviews will be tagged as “redos” so that they’re easy to find and they will always link to the original review if possible.

We Have Our Favorites

We all tend to have certain things we’ve watched, played, read etc that really hit home. For us you’ll quickly find out which are our favorites as we refer back to them as the “gold standard” for each category. We will tag our true top tier reviews as “gold standard” so that you can quickly find out what our favorites are.
